Seriously, sounds like a stress reaction. No different than a guy belting his kid, but certainly more dramatic. I wonder how this kid is going to treat her kids?

Introducing torture into popular culture through movies and war is just more dehumanization. Manufacturing consensus - it might enrage people today but tomorrow?

First thought: practice makes perfect!

If they will do it to their own children, they won't hesitate to do it to you.

Seriously though, as someone who has been around quite a bit of soldiers (and sailors when I was in Navy), that person represents a sociopathic minority...

The critical missing information is - was it effective ? Did it help the kid to remember the alphabet ?
