Can someone please explain the political appeal? I mean becasue really, all I pick up is stupid. I'm not a conservative or Tea Partier, but hell folks, you need to get yourself a better spokesperson if you think you are going to get any traction.

I see this tremendous anti-education development on the right. Anti-elitism and so forth I can understand, but why the pride in ignorance?

Palin:
Quote:
I think, kind of tougher to, um, put our arms around, but allowing America's spirit to rise again by not being afraid to kind of go back to some of our roots as a God fearing nation where we're not afraid to say, especially in times of potential trouble in the future here, where we're not afraid to say, you know, we don't have all the answers as fallible men and women so it would be wise of us to start seeking some divine intervention again in this country, so that we can be safe and secure and prosperous again. To have people involved in government who aren't afraid to go that route, not so afraid of the political correctness that you know -- they have to be afraid of what the media said about them if they were to proclaim their alliance on our creator.

I almost hope Palin runs and wins in 2012.

We go from a chimp's sidekick (Reagan), a CIA-weasel (Bush 1), a lawyer (Clinton), failed businessman and chimp (Bush 2), to community organizer/hope-salesman (Obama).

Now we add the last touches to idiocracy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idiocracy

This Disunited Facade of America deserves this deranged lunatic to lead the acceleration into collapse.
There hasn't been a United States of America since at least Dec 12, 2000 (if not 1971, 1913, et al)
And 'freedumb' will NOT be returning - and the bill is in arrears (payment overdue) with severe penalty for wanton delusion applied.

Here's the Plan: Noting from another source, JessesCrossroads how Allan Sloan is deciding that Defaulting on Treasury IOU's to the SS Fund might be possible. And guess who their Stalking Horse would be-'Talk to the Hand' :!:  8O

Irish Famine Revisited:
Supkis wrote:
I bet the fools running the Federal Reserve will be happy to cut a deal about cutting US social services. Then, they will have to figure out how to peddle this to the US. For example, Palin last night urged the Tea Baggers to attack social services and they will be given even more air time to and culvert government funding to do this dirty job of convincing the US public that the Irish Potato Famine Solution will be good for America.

That is, kill off one third of the poor via withholding medicine and food while forcing one third (the Hispanics) to emigrate southwards. I am totally serious about this: the starvation road is one easily chosen by the bankers, it is their BEST option! Of course, there is the dark fear that the populace who must ‘let them eat cake’ will turn into a revolutionary mob and chop off the banker’s heads instead. This is why they must conspire with foreign powers. The military and police must be well funded so they fight for the bankers, not the starving masses.

Think middle class behind barbed wire (South Africa on meths); all out war in the middle east (in the name of God's Holy Land Israel). Think $250 oil very soon. Think the whole world not empathising at all with the USA but utterly despising it. If this hell whore gets elected, within 1 term the USA will be a complete basket case. Those who think it's so bad now nothing could make it worse are naive in the extreme. She is the most insincere fraud I have ever seen don the political mantle. It's very hard to believe that anyone is so stupid, so low on emotional intelligence, as to let such a person have even a moment on the podium.

I'd call her dumb as a sack of hammers, but I have to build a chicken coup this spring, and I'm afraid my hammer might take offense...

Hasn't every president since the birth of America had a friend in the sky?

The media can elevate and degenerate politicians at will, but the media will never tell America how their country is really operating - outside the control of politicians and presidents.

The Palin show. Hope your all enjoying it!

I just cringe every time I see her speak. I swear Larry the Cable Guy discusses world politics more articulately than she does.

I see her as a female version of GWB. She has a similar appeal. She exhibited similar behaviors while she held offices in Alaska.

The fact that she is being associated with the tea party shows me that the republicans are frightened by the prospect of a grass roots third party that wants smaller government (hallelujah!) and lower taxes (praise the lord!).

The Repubs have co-opted the tea party and another proof is the way the repubs offical media outlet has taken the tea party under it's wing and installed its failed VP candidate (Amen!) as its de-facto leader.

Neither party wants a viable third party that represents the interests of the backbone of America, so one does not really exist. Notice how third party candidates are treated by the media during election cycles: ignored or ridiculed. Since many people like to be told what to think, shutting down those third parties is child's play. The gullible masses continue to pull the lever for D or R believing that THIS time it will be different. Yet it never is.

The people who like Palin and want her for president scare me. They look at her and see what they want to see(maverik--rogue), not what she is.

Another conniving, corrupt, sociopathic politician that used her office for maximum personal benefit. One who isn't bright or knowledgeable at all, but sly, and clever like a fox. And she's also got a certain milf-y quality that appeals to men from my demographic, apparently, based on my conversations with peers.

I don't think the tea party was anything other than a red-state republican movement. Everybody seemed to be behind GW Bush on Tarp I, but then flipped sides after the election. Note the genesis of the tea party movement on Wikipedia as being from Rush Limbaugh.

The inclusion of "birthers" and Palin show that a large demographic of tea-partyers are sore-loser red staters who are attempting to steal the spotlight and sabotage the Obama administration from the sidelines.

This is probably the real reason Palin resigned from Alaska. She can now spend all of her time attacking Obama vs. actually governing.

This is new politics, folks. This is the non-stop election cycle. Talk radio and Fox News keep the propaganda pumping 24/7 through to the next presidential election. Bludgeoning demagoguery rather than competent statesmanship.

I find it sad that so many would choose the person to run the country, based on whether or not they want to have sex with that person. Hell, then I nominate Jessica Biel. :)

Dude- GWB seems like a member of Mensa compared to her. She is as dumb as a sack of rocks. Writing "Energy" on her hand. Are you frickin' kidding me? She can't remember her one signature issue that she claims she has expertise in. Are you frickin' kidding me? If this were the gong show the bell would have rung last year just after the Couric interview. That Repubs honestly embrace her tell me a lot about how far down that party has fallen...

I think probably only a minority of Republicans embrace her. But maybe I'm just being generous and like to think of some Republicans as being honestly thoughtful conservatives, not screaming "Birther" loonies.

You're right Ludi, from my experience. She really has what I would call the country club conservatives and the analytical/intellectual conservatives in a twist. The party leaders are trying to find a way to meld Sarah and her rabid following of christian right and milf celebrants with the more institutional parts of the party. Bush II had the talk to entice the former and the pedigree to assuage the latter. It will be quite a spectacle if she even runs for president.

I disagree. Rick Santelli started the tea party.

He was the first one to use the phrase "Tea Party" to summarize the anti-Washington, anti-bailout position.

He called for a "Chicago Tea Party" to protest the mortgage bailout plan.

Limbaugh, Palin, and their followers may have taken up the Tea Party mantle but it was Santelli who gave them the name.

Not that any of this really matters.
